The Internet is no longer what it used to be. In days gone by one would enter a search phrase, and in short order helpful links would appear, pointing to the page, or pages containing the answer to one's question. Now, links popping up are nothing but click collectors, i.e. they now hi-jack your question and from thereon play pinball with you; you really almost never get to a helpful page. The more they bounce you around the more clicks they collect; they get what they want but you almost never get what you want, these days.
IT IS ALL ABOUT AMASSING CLICKS TO EARN MONEY!
Yes, doing research on the internet used to be fun, now it has become pure frustration. If this new hi-jack game continues, it will eventually kill the usefulness of this tool, in my opinion. What is your experience? Please leave a comment, I would greatly appreciate reading your take on this issue.
The internet got worse after 2010 with pop-up ads, but that really accelerated after 2016 with pop-up ads and more rigorous thought-control, multi-layer filtering, and outright information banning.
