"Moody's downgrades US credit rating citing rising debt"

" Moody's warned in 2023 that the US' triple-A rating was at risk"
"The US has lost its last triple-A credit score from a major ratings firm after being downgraded by Moody's, which cited growing federal debt over the past decade.
In lowering the US rating to 'Aa1', Moody's noted that successive US administrations had failed to reverse ballooning deficits and interest costs.
A triple-A rating signifies a country's highest possible credit reliability, and indicates it is considered to be in very good financial health with a strong capacity to repay its debts.
Moody's warned in 2023 the US triple-A rating was at risk. Fitch Ratings downgraded the US in 2023 and S&P Global Ratings did so in 2011.
The downgrade "reflects the increase over more than a decade in government debt and interest payment ratios to levels that are significantly higher than similarly rated sovereigns," Moody's said in the statement.
A lower credit rating means countries are more likely to default on their sovereign debt, and generally face higher borrowing costs.
Moody's maintained that the US "retains exceptional credit strengths such as size, resilience and dynamism and the continued role of the US dollar as the global reserve currency".

This latest downgrade by Moody is the result of gross mismanagement of the economy by either political party over the years. For example, financing the war in Ukraine and the Genocide in Gaza with borrowed money is certainly lacking fiscal responsibility. All this deficit spending, in violation of the Constitution apparently, is ongoing while too many working Americans must sleep in their cars, for they cannot afford the rent of a safe place to live in.

One Million Dollars Fine Or 20 Years In Jail Can Be Yours ... For What?
House Bill No. H.R. 867 almost came up for a vote today; it was withdrawn, however, for mostly unknown reasons. For more details watch the videos linked to below. Opinion has it, there is a good chance this bill will be included in another more complex bill, properly buried to make it not easier but harder to locate, giving it a better chance to be unknowingly voted for, in the affirmative. By the way, the intent of this bill is unconstitutional, as it violates the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
It seems that the so-called U.S. Representatives are trying desperately to protect Israel from the major image damage that Israel has inflicted upon itself, by all accounts. Is this an act of desperation? If so, it most likely will not work but it certainly could piss-off the masses, when their rights are removed in favor of a foreign country.
If Trump really means 'America First' he cannot sign this bill into law, if approved, lest he wishes to acknowledge that he is a big Liar. So far, some of his actions already taken makes some people wonder if he really has America first in his heart and brain.

The Washington Post spoke to lawyers for the two families and reported that “both families were taken into custody while attending routine check-ins … in New Orleans as part of the Intensive Supervision Appearance Program, which allows individuals to remain in their communities while undergoing immigration proceedings. "As of late March, at least 232 journalists have been killed in the Gaza genocide, with the vast majority being Palestinians, according to a new paper by the Costs of War project in Brown University’s Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs. Nearly 380 journalists have been wounded in the violence as of January, per the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate.
This is the highest journalist death toll of any U.S. war since the Civil War, the group says — and, in fact, tops the combined toll of journalist casualties in the U.S. Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War (including the U.S.’s assaults on Cambodia and Laos), the Yugoslav Wars, the War in Afghanistan, and the ongoing Ukraine War.
In the first month of Israel’s genocide alone, at least 37 journalists were killed, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists — marking the deadliest month on record for journalists worldwide, the group said.
The report, written by journalist Nick Turse, tallies the journalist death toll based on accounting by Al Jazeera and the Committee to Protect Journalists. The toll calculated by Turse is far higher than the oft-cited death toll tallied by the latter group.
As the report notes, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate said that the death toll of journalists as of a year ago was about 10 percent of Gaza’s journalist community — equivalent to killing 8,500 journalists in the U.S. That number would be even higher if the journalism profession in the U.S. had not been gutted over the past decades.
It’s unclear how many of these killings were deliberate targeting of journalists, but it’s clear that Israel has “unleashed an unrelenting war on the press,” the analysis says. Reporters Sans Frontières has counted at least 35 cases where there is sufficient evidence of direct targeting — though press freedom groups and experts have repeatedly said that it is clear that Israel is undertaking a concerted effort to slaughter those documenting the genocide.
Those directly targeted by Israeli forces include 23-year-old journalist Hossam Shabat, who Israel killed in an airstrike last week. The young journalist had become well-known throughout the genocide for his unrelenting coverage of northern Gaza in the face of Israel’s intense assault and siege on the region. Israel has acknowledged his killing, claiming, without evidence, that Shabat was a terrorist.
On Tuesday, the same day that the report was released, the Palestinian Journalists Protection Committee announced that Israel had targeted and killed another journalist, Al-Aqsa Radio reporter Mohammed Saleh Al-Bardawil, also killing his wife and three children.
In addition to targeting and killing journalists, “Israel has employed a full spectrum effort to undermine the free flow of information,” the report says, through the Israeli military’s destruction of the communications system in Gaza and intimidation and widespread repression of the press.
Israel’s targeting of journalists is an escalation of the erosion of journalism across the world.
“Across the globe, the economics of the industry, the violence of war, and coordinated censorship campaigns threaten to turn an increasing number of conflict zones into news graveyards, with Gaza being the most extreme example,” the report says."

The Maltese authorities dispatched a patrol vessel, and a nearby tugboat began firefighting efforts. Although the vessel’s crew refused to abandon ship, officials later confirmed everyone was safe after hours of containment.
The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which is campaigning to end Israel’s 17-year blockade of Gaza, said the ship was part of a covert mission involving volunteers from over 21 countries, including prominent human rights figures.
Organizers maintained media silence in the lead-up to the journey, hoping to avoid interference.
This latest attack evokes memories of a deadly 2010 incident when Israeli forces boarded a Gaza-bound flotilla, killing nine activists.
While other blockade-challenging missions have been intercepted without bloodshed, tensions remain high.
The attempted voyage comes amid ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Following Hamas' Oct. 7, 2023, incursion on southern Israel, which killed 1,200 and led to 251 hostage takings, Israel’s retaliatory offensive has claimed over 52,000 lives, per Palestinian health officials."

Are We Witnessing The Rebirth Of The 'Un-American Activity' Witch-Hunt?
Having lived for a number of years under Hitler's dictatorship where the masses were afraid of their own shadow and their neighbors and eye witnessed, from Canada, the McCarthy era playing out, the writer can see and smell when such a wrong environment develops in its early stages. It is not a pretty sight, by any stretch of the imagination. Although the writer is not a fan of the legal system, the courts in particular, having been shafted by a Superior court, a state Appellate Court and finally by a State Supreme court, all in contradiction of the Superior Court's own expert witness, a Professor of law, as well as Constitutional law. Nevertheless, he finds himself in agreement with the courts that put the breaks on, to stop the spontaneous perhaps well meaning but illegal actions by the current Government.
The U.S. Constitution is no longer respected unless it is convenient, and Judges often become political activists, doing the bidding for their favorite party. Therefore, it is refreshing when on occasion they actually enforce a particular law. As a consequence, the current Administration finds itself entangled in a multitude of legal actions against them.
It appears that Trump made many promises during his campaign and he rushes too often to fulfill these during his first 100 days in office. This historical time limit is silly at best and childish at worst. Instead of rushing some actions they should do it right the first time and legally at that.
For example, arresting people and deporting them without due process certainly violates the U.S. Constitution. Why are the Government lawyers not stopping these hasty actions? Arresting demonstrators, who criticize Israel for its illegal actions in Gaza and the West Bank, for example, is an abusive action by the Government, as it violates the First Amendment. It is a stark reminder of similar actions taken under the Third Reich. Some may say family ties with Zionists prompt these illegal actions against critics of Israel, the Zionists in particular. It is very likely that all springs from a five-year war plan (that some say exists) instead that tries to avoid public knowledge.

Is That All That Trump Can Do ... Really?

"U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday that he told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this week he must treat the "suffering" residents of the blockaded Gaza Strip with greater compassion.
Asked if he raised the issue of humanitarian aid deliveries, which Israel has blocked for over seven weeks, Trump told reporters on Air Force One that he told Netanyahu during a Tuesday phone call that "you've got to be good to Gaza."
"Those people are suffering. We got to be good to Gaza. We're going to take care of that," he said. "There's a very big need for medicine, food and medicine, and we're taking care of it."
Asked whether his administration is pushing the Israelis to allow deliveries of food and medicine, Trump said: "We are."
Earlier Friday, the World Food Program (WFP) announced it has "depleted all food stocks" for families in Gaza as border crossings have remained shut by Israel since March 2. It further warned that its kitchens, a vital lifeline providing only half the population with 25% of daily food needs, are expected to fully run out of supplies within days.
The U.N. agency noted that all 25 bakeries it supported closed on March 31 after running out of wheat flour and cooking fuel. Food parcels distributed to families were exhausted in the same week. The WFP warned of a "severe lack of safe water and fuel for cooking, forcing people to scavenge for items to burn to cook a meal."
Gaza has faced the longest closure of its main border crossings in history, with no humanitarian or commercial supplies entering for more than seven weeks. WFP reported food prices have surged up to 1,400% compared to during the ceasefire, while essential commodities are in critically short supply, raising "serious nutrition concerns" for vulnerable groups, including young children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and the elderly.
More than 116,000 metric tons of food aid, enough to feed one million people for four months, are ready to enter once borders reopen, the agency said."

"Undocumented Immigrants’ Rights Under the United States Constitution"
On the surface one could be inclined to presume that illegal Immigrants/and or Migrants have no rights under the U.S. Constitution. Turns out, this is not the case, certain rights are protected for everyone legally or not residing in the U.S. In addition, there exist basic human rights that try to protect everyone no matter where in the world one is located.

" Issue 9 Spring 2021" "The topic of immigration has been in the forefront of the political platform in the last few years. Misconceptions about immigrants’ rights in the United States are widespread. This article serves as a guide to help you understand what rights are afforded under the United States Constitution to undocumented immigrants in this country. The Constitution is the name of the document that contains the fundamental laws governing the United States of America.¹ This document has been considered “the supreme law of the land” since 1789, and it extends basic human rights to its citizens. But this is where we encounter a couple of issues. Who is considered a citizen? Does this include only natural born citizens? How about naturalized immigrants? Does the Constitution exclude undocumented individuals? The framers of the Constitution did not have the “legal status” of those living in the United States in mind; in fact, the document was ratified to protect the people that lived within the borders of this country. For hundreds of years, the U.S. Supreme Court has upheld that certain constitutional rights extend to everyone living within the U.S., not just natural born citizens or legalized immigrants. As unpleasant as this might sound to some, undocumented immigrants are afforded many rights under the Constitution. Over the years, more than two-dozen amendments have been added to the Constitution. Below is a summary of what some of these rights are and how they protect undocumented individuals in the U.S. Right to Due Process The Fifth Amendment to the Constitution states that “no person . . . shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty or property, without due process of law.”²
In the simplest terms, due process means that a person cannot be deprived of their legal rights without proper application of the law. That is, a person cannot have their property taken away from them, or be placed in jail without first going through the legal system to determine if they are guilty of the crime they are accused of, and determining the applicable punishment. In other words, proper application of the law means treating an undocumented immigrant just the same as a natural born citizen before the court. Many people believe that undocumented immigrants do not have a right to their day in court, either as a victim or as the accused. However, that is incorrect. Every individual residing within the boundaries of the U.S. has a right to legal procedures in civil, criminal, agency and administrative matters. For example, an undocumented man in the state of Texas has access to his local district court to file suit for custody of his children. Or an undocumented woman arrested and charged with a crime has a right to defend herself in criminal court. A person’s lack of legal status does not preclude them from filing suit or defending themselves and their property without due process of the law. Similarly, immigrants facing deportation before the immigration court benefit from the protections of due process. More specifically, a respondent (the designation given to a defendant in immigration court) has a right to have his or her defense heard before the immigration judge. If the immigrant lives in the U.S., and is not facing deportation due to a criminal conviction, he or she may be eligible for an immigration bond, therefore enjoying freedom from custody while waiting for their hearing. The rules regarding detention are different for undocumented immigrants facing serious criminal charges or undocumented immigrants who have very recently crossed the border without proper documentation. Your next question may be, “well, what about a right to an attorney?” This right is discussed in the next section.
Right to Legal Counsel The Sixth Amendment to the Constitution provides that “in all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall . . . have the assistance of counsel for his defense.”³ This constitutional right allows for individuals facing criminal charges the right to an attorney. Under this protection, an accused can obtain representation from a private attorney, if they can afford it, or from a court-appointed attorney to represent them in their defense. Even an undocumented immigrant facing a criminal charge can receive representation from an attorney, by his or her own means, or through an attorney appointed by the judge. Unless the defendant chooses to represent him or herself, it is unconstitutional to prosecute a defendant, regardless of legal status, without being offered the right to an attorney.⁴ When arrested, any individual has the right to remain silent, regardless of their immigration status. Like the movies say, “anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.” Police officers and District Attorneys can threaten harsher punishments because of a person’s undocumented status in the U.S., but this is just a pressure tactic used to force an individual’s cooperation. Simply do not give in, and request to have an attorney present. A court-appointed attorney will come free of charge. However, the quality of representation from a court-appointed attorney is something to consider as well. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. If arrested, just remember that it may be worthwhile to have your family seek out private counsel for your defense.
The right to legal counsel, however, is limited to criminal cases. An undocumented immigrant facing deportation before the immigration court is not granted the right to legal counsel. This is because deportation proceedings are not a criminal proceeding. Even in the unfortunate instance that an undocumented individual landed in removal proceedings because of a criminal matter, the criminal case will be handled in criminal court, whereas the immigration case will be handled in immigration court. It is important to understand in which type of court your specific case is under. Knowing the difference can expedite the time it takes for your loved ones to find the proper type of representation be it in a criminal or immigration matter.
Right to Education There is no expressed “right to education” within the U.S. Constitution. There is, however, a landmark case that allows a right to education to undocumented children under the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution. In the case Plyler v. Doe,⁵ the U.S. Supreme Court held that states cannot deny students free public education based on their immigration status. The court found that any resources which may be saved from excluding undocumented children from public schools were far outweighed by the harms imposed on society from denying them an education. Simply put, it is more beneficial to allow undocumented children access to a free education in public schools than to deny them said education.
The basis for the Court’s finding lies within the Fourteenth Amendment, which reads that, “No State shall . . . deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protections of the law.” In their reasoning, the Court held that if states provide free public education to U.S. citizens and lawfully present foreign-born children, the states cannot deny such an education to undocumented children without showing that it furthers some substantial state interest. Without a showing of a rational basis to deny undocumented children an education, the denial of access to education is simply unconstitutional.⁶ Right Against Unreasonable Search and Seizure The Fourth Amendment of the constitution states that “the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.”⁷ An unreasonable search or seizure occurs when a law enforcement officer searches your person, or your property without permission to do so. Permission does not necessarily mean your consent, but rather a failure to use proper mechanisms allowed under the law to justify the officer’s actions. One of these mechanisms is reasonable suspicion, which means that an officer has reason to believe that you are committing a crime or have committed the crime therefore allowing them to question you. The most common example is being pulled over while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or because you disobeyed a traffic law: speeding, rolling a stop, running a red, etc. In these instances, the police officer can pull you over because they saw you committing an infraction or because they have reason to believe you are under the influence. Your actions during the encounter may provide the officer more reasons to believe something else may be afoot. For example, a nervous or fidgety driver may give the impression of suspicion and the officer can go into more questioning about the contents of your vehicle and may ask you to step out of your car. A second mechanism is probable cause. Reasonable suspicion is more of an appearance that a crime has been committed and is a step before probable cause. A situation escalates to probable cause when it becomes more obvious that a crime has most likely been committed. Both are grounds to question you and your behavior.
A third mechanism is known as a warrant. A warrant is a legal document, usually signed by a judge or magistrate, allowing law enforcement officers to arrest you, via an arrest warrant, or to search your property, such as your car and home, via a search warrant. Note that these three mechanisms allow for law enforcement officers to question you and hold you briefly, and do not necessarily require your express permission to do so. Both citizens and non-citizens (including undocumented individuals) are protected under the Constitution against unreasonable searches and seizures.
If you don’t want to be pulled over and questioned, simply do not give the impression that you are breaking a law. In Summary The U.S. Constitution affords its citizens many protections; in reading this, bear in mind that the word ‘citizen’ should not be taken literally. When drafted, immigration status was not a point of contention, as it is now. The word ‘citizens’ is meant to include residents, as in, those residing inside the U.S. This includes natural born citizens, naturalized individuals, lawful permanent residents, as well as undocumented immigrants. Do not allow peoples’ opinions about this interpretation shape your life. "How Israeli soldiers killed 15 medics in Gaza and lied about it"
Not only has the Israeli IDF killed 15 Medics but to add insult to injury they lied about the circumstances, to hide their criminal actions, by totally distorting the true facts. A phone video/recording found at the killing site provided the true account.
Fully knowing their criminal acts they buried everything, however, their wrong deeds were unearthed, as the truths eventually must come to the surface.
Evidently the IDF is no better than the infamous SS of the Hitler regime during WW II, they may even be worse by all accounts.
Perhaps the world is trying to makeup for their past sins, when countries, the US included, refused to allow ships, laden with Jewish refugees, to dock sending them back to the country they were trying to escape from. However, two wrongs do not make a right.

"The Israeli military backtracked on its account of the killing of 15 Palestinian medics by its forces last month after phone video appeared to contradict its claims that their vehicles did not have emergency signals on when troops opened fire on them in the Gaza Strip.
The military initially said it opened fire because the vehicles were "advancing suspiciously" on nearby troops without headlights or emergency signals. An Israeli military official, speaking late Saturday on condition of anonymity in line with regulations, said that account was "mistaken."
The footage shows the Red Crescent and Civil Defense teams driving slowly with their emergency vehicles' lights flashing, logos visible, as they pulled up to help an ambulance that had come under fire earlier. The teams do not appear to be acting unusually or in a threatening manner as three medics emerge and head toward the stricken ambulance.
Their vehicles immediately come under a barrage of gunfire, which goes on for more than five minutes with brief pauses. The owner of the phone can be heard praying.
"Forgive me, mother. This is the path I chose, mother, to help people," he cries, his voice weak.
Eight Red Crescent personnel, six Civil Defense workers and a U.N. staffer were killed in the shooting before dawn on March 23 by Israeli troops conducting operations in Tel al-Sultan, a district of the southern Gaza city of Rafah. Troops then bulldozed over the bodies along with their mangled vehicles, burying them in a mass grave. U.N. and rescue workers were only able to reach the site a week later to dig out the bodies.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society's vice president, Marwan Jilani, said the phone with the footage was found in the pocket of one of its slain staffers. The Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations distributed the video to the U.N. Security Council. The Associated Press obtained the video from a U.N. diplomat on condition of anonymity because it has not been made public.
One paramedic who survived, Munzer Abed, confirmed the veracity of the video to the AP. Two block-shaped concrete structures visible in the video are also seen in a U.N. video released Sunday showing the recovery of the bodies from the site — a sign they are in the same location.
Asked about the video, the Israeli military said Saturday that the incident was "under thorough examination."
One medic remains missing
The head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, Younes Al-Khatib, called for an independent investigation. "We don't trust any of the army investigations," he told a briefing at the U.N. on Friday.
One medic, Assaad al-Nassasra, is still missing, the Red Crescent says. Abed said he saw al-Nassasra being led away blindfolded by Israeli troops. Al-Khatib said the organization has asked the military where it is holding the staffer.
Al-Khatib said the slain men had been "targeted at close range" and that a forensic autopsy report would be released soon.
Israel has accused Hamas of moving and hiding its fighters inside ambulances and emergency vehicles, as well as in hospitals and other civilian infrastructure, arguing that justifies strikes on them. Medical personnel largely deny the accusations.
Israeli strikes have killed more than 150 emergency responders from the Red Crescent and Civil Defense, most of them while on duty, as well as over 1,000 health workers, according to the U.N. The Israeli military rarely investigates such incidents.
Ambulances under a barrage of Israeli fire
Ambulances started heading to Tel al-Sultan at around 3:50 a.m. on March 23, responding to reports of wounded, Jilani said. The first ambulance returned safely with at least one casualty, he said. But, he said, subsequent ambulances came under fire.
His hands trembling, Abed told the AP on Saturday that as his ambulance entered the area, its siren lights were on. "All of a sudden, I am telling you, there was direct shooting at us," so intense that the vehicle ground to a stop, he said.
A 10-year veteran of the Red Crescent, Abed said he was sitting in the back seat and ducked to the floor. He said he could hear nothing from his two colleagues in the front seat — the only others in the vehicle. They appear to have been killed instantly.
Israeli troops, some with night goggles, dragged Abed out of the ambulance and onto the ground, he said. They made him strip to his underwear, beat him all over his body with their rifle butts, then tied his hands behind his back, he said.
They interrogated him, asking him about his paramedic training and how many people were in the ambulance with him, he said. One soldier pressed the muzzle of his automatic rifle into his neck. Another pressed his knife blade into Abed's palm, almost cutting it, until a third soldier pulled them away and warned Abed, "They're crazy."
Abed said he witnessed them opening fire on the next vehicles to arrive. Soldiers forced him onto his stomach and pressed a gun into his back, he said, and amid the shooting in the darkness, so he could only see two Civil Defense vehicles.
Video shows medic's terror
The phone video shows a rescue convoy of Red Crescent and Civil Defense vehicles that was sent out after contact was lost with the stricken ambulance. Taken from the dashboard of one vehicle, it shows several ambulances and a fire truck moving down a road through a barren area in the darkness. The emergency lights on their roofs are flashing the entire way.
They arrive at an ambulance on the side of the road and stop next to it, their lights still flashing. No Israeli troops are visible.
"Lord, let them be OK," a man in the car says. Then he cries out, "They're tossed around on the ground!" — apparently referring to bodies. Three men in orange Civil Defense clothing can be seen getting out of the vehicles and walking toward the stopped ambulance.
A shot rings out and one of the men appears to fall. Gunfire erupts.
The man holding the phone appears to scramble out of the car and onto the ground, but the screen goes black, though the audio continues. The gunfire goes on for nearly five and a half minutes, with long, heavy barrages followed by silences punctuated by individual shots and shouts and screams.
Throughout, the man with the phone says over and over, "There is no God but God and Muhammad is God's prophet" — the profession of faith that Muslims say when they fear they are about to die. Near the end of the six-minute, 40-second video, voices can be heard shouting in Hebrew. "The Jews are coming," the man said, referring to Israeli soldiers, before the video cuts off.
The Israeli military official asserted there was "no mistreatment," and said he didn't know why the vehicles had been buried. He had no information about the medic who remained missing.
Israel claims they found militants afterward
The Israeli military says that after the shooting, troops determined they had killed a Hamas figure named Mohammed Amin Shobaki and eight other militants. However, none of the 15 slain medics has that name, and no other bodies are known to have been found at the site.
The military has not said what happened to Shobaki's body or released the names of the other alleged militants. The Israeli military official said Israel was "working to bring evidence" that Hamas operatives were killed.
Jonathan Whittall, interim head in Gaza of the U.N. humanitarian office OCHA, dismissed allegations that the slain medics were Hamas militants, saying staff had worked with the same medics previously in evacuating patients from hospitals and other tasks.
"These are paramedic crews that I personally have met before," he said. "They were buried in their uniforms with their gloves on. They were ready to save lives.""
