What is CKD (Cystic Kidney Decease)? This problem is inherited from one of our parents. Phrenologists and Urologists admit freely that there is damn little they can do to make changes for the better. However, is this really true? About two months ago my CKD kidneys exhibited a Zero GFR (Glomerular Filtration Rate) test result at the hospital, just before I was discharged. Not good news for sure.
The day after my discharge, my wife and I designed and agreed upon a diet, for me that would burden my Kidneys the least, keeping both Potassium and Phosphorus in control. It consisted of soups made from Lentils and 'Chicken Bone Broth'. Nothing else was allowed. Yesterday I gave blood for testing my GFR, Potassium, Phosphorus, and CRP (picks up signal of infection), which was over 300 at the time of my Hospital discharge.
Test Results:
Potassium 4.3 (range is 3.5-5.50)
Phosporus 2.3 ( " is 2.3-4)
CRP 23.4 ( " is 0-6), doctors worry at >100.
Creatine 2.18 ( " is 0.6-11.3)
GFR 25.5 ( " is 60-120), this from zero function!!!
I have records on spreadsheets showing when my GFR improved over a number of years at each test, without any strict diet. The result above is extremely exiting because it was our designed strict diet that achieved similar. Moreover, we kept the vital other elements in control, especially Potassium.
