The proverbial snowball has already been kicked down the mountain it appears. During the Third Reich it all started in a similar fashion, some people were threatened for speaking out, but the masses chose to ignore the warning signs. By now we learned through history books, how it really ended for the Germans of the Third Reich; some old folks actually were eyewitnesses to it all; count me in.

Senator Kelly's wife was shot, in the in the line of duty, some time ago, resulting in the loss of one eye. Yet this Senator speaks out in a fearless manner, as a warning for all of us. My God protect him from harm.
The writer likes to think that the public threat made, is most-likely a warning to the masses to make sure that everyone understands to zip-it, or else. The Senator's press conference, unwittingly, ensured mass distribution of this unfortunate threat against him and others.
Weak Governments always resorted to this tactic, throughout history.
