MEMORIES OF HIROSHIMA ... TIMES THREE

Anything the US can do, Israel can do better, it appears.  There should be no doubt in anyone's mind, what happened in Hiroshima was horrific, now multiply this by three and you have an idea what people in Gaza experience.  Just because it happens over a longer time-span, it is no less destructive.  Of course, fewer people were killed because there was no radiation involved, which added to the final death total in Hiroshima.  Currently, 22,438 (1/4/2024) Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

"Israel hit Gaza with 3 times more firepower than Hiroshima nuke"

Over 65,000 tons of explosives were dropped on Gaza, to-date, equal to three times more than the US Nuclear bomb used on Hiroshima.

"What happened to Hiroshima after it was bombed in 1945? How many people died?"

"Some 78,000 people were killed instantly when the US dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima in Japan on 6 August 1945. Those who survived suffered radiation sickness and severe burns – and the city was utterly destroyed."  Emphasis added.  It must be noted, Hiroshima had no warning!

In Hiroshima it was a onetime event, and then it was over, by contrast, in Gaza the horror is ongoing for over 90 days and nights.

For example, Munich during WWII, experienced the following. "The city received around 450 large bombs (Luftminen, around 4,000lb), 61,000 high-explosive bombs, and around 3,316,000 4lb magnesium incendiary bombs (Stabbrandbombe, developed by ICI). Around 50% of all of Munich was damaged. 81,500 houses were completely or partially destroyed, de-housing around 300,000 inhabitants, 4,185 wounded, 139 killed. The deadliest bombing took place on 16 July 1944, with 1,453 killed and 4,525 wounded."

The writer had the good fortune to survive the many nights of terror, in Munich, and fully appreciates what Gaza is enduring.
